The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Welp, looks like I'm still back to debugging SBVT. I plugged it into my Two Notes CAB M with a looper in front to record some clips and was playing around with controls through my monitors. There's still something wrong and I still think it may be in the ultra-lo switch area. I'm not sure how I did it (wish I did, I would love to do it on purpose) but when the bass control is turned past 3:00 it sounds like there's a sub-octave on it, that's where the super low I was hearing last night came from. It's not an altogether unpleasant sound, but it's not supposed to be there.

So tentative path forward: I'm going to completely rip up the current circuit board design and re-route from scratch. I had already found three mistakes that the software didn't catch and fixed them, that's how I got where I am now, but there may be more that the software didn't catch and neither did I.

Also, in the interest of time (I know everyone is fine with waiting, but if I can spend an extra $10 and save 2 weeks I'll do it), I'm going to do a separate circuit board with an ultra-lo switch more like the vintage SVT to see if that works any better. Best case scenario I won't need it, but worst case scenario if the other one doesn't work (or even if it does but I'm curious) I already have a backup plan in hand and ready to go. I already need to order more boards that I'm running low on for this month (PAX, King Nothing, LRX) so I need to get an order out sooner rather than later, so I can throw both of these in and save shipping costs.

On a completely unrelated note, NPD for me. I'll take questions later.

So I'm curious how you fine folks are using your Space Heaters. As a preamp? As a tube overdrive? As a tube warmer with grit?

Also, where are you putting it in your chain? In the OD spot, the preamp spot, or towards the end of the chain?

I haven't heard from anyone on this and am still interested in hearing how folks are using their SH.

I'm also interested to know how folks are using their SH. I like mine in the FX return on my solid-state amp so I use that instead of the amp's preamp, that's my favorite way to use it. It does make an excellent warm overdrive for guitar as well, or a thick hairy boost for bass.

Good.
It helps remove temptation.
Otherwise, I might've had a placeholder for the SBVT, or a PA.
I regret to inform you I may have some additional PA flavored temptation in the next few weeks.
