Same experience here. I don't recall Mr. Box disclosing the EQ frequency centers, my hunch is that Presence affects stuff beyond 15-16 kHz (where my hearing is getting weak).

Anyone having a noisy, kind of whining, slampegg x when plugged in a onespot CS6 with a HWUA (turret limited edition)? It is silent when I plug it with another PSU.

I ran through that thread and never found a real description of the Hiwatt dr-103 tone stack. I am going to make a real SWAG... Fender RCA style but no or very low set HPF. why ? because that is essentially what Marshall did with amps of the day except he used a rather high hpf as he was marketing to guitarists. Worth what any other Swag is aka my .02, hopefully worth more ;-)
I can say that front ending a GK Mb-200 with a Partical Accellerator is very convincing ... I ran the PAX into an Empress Bass Compressor into the Gk at rehearsal yesterday day. Single 15 black widow in a compact slot port cab. Man! I got some great sounds out of that.

First impression through headphones is that it adds a nice shimmer up top at any gain, and a nice bloom down low at medium gain. I stayed away from high gain for the time being as that's not usually how I evaluate preamps.

Not those, but with other Sushi pedals I've had that. I had to put a buffered pedal in between them to kill the whine.

Here's another thread which is also interesting but doesn't clearly point to a definitive Hiwatt dr-103 tone stack description. Page 3 of this thread indicates it "is sort of a highly tweaked FMV (Fender/Marshall/Vox) style eq."
Who knows? Your educated guess may be spot on!

Hiwatt kind of has its own topography of tonestack. It's similar-ish to the Fender/Marshall/Vox stack, but it's different enough that you can't really put it in the same category. I can pull up the schematic when I get home if that would help.
On an unrelated note, can anyone recommend some good IRs to use with bass? It looks like the ones that come stock with the module I use in Gondwana are all variations of the Marshall 1960a 4x12 and don't sound great on bass. I'm more than okay spending a few bucks on IRs, just want to know what some good ones are.

My favorites are the ones Shift-Line put together for bass. You pay whatever you feel is appropriate.
Dr. Bonkers and Redwirez have pretty good collections for bass for about $10 each.
I was just testing out some power supplies with my PAX and UA because I wanted to see what could power my 3 Sushi pedals together. I am getting a finally for the Jan build, so when I put the PAX and UA one right after the other, I was getting what sounded like radio frequency whines.
Then I put a Hyper Luminal between them and it was all good. lol, I returned a couple of power supplies and was about to return the Strymon Oija I have.
+1 on the shift line, they’re all great, but the Celestion V30 bass version they have is my favorite.
