I wonder if I should be worried that I have finally had a chance to open my little Sushi box, and noticed it is #013. Hmmmm… hope that is not a bad sign! But the pedal itself is beautiful.

HWSH in the house and acclimatizing! Anticipation... I am like beyond curious what a Dark Star into the Space Heater direct sounds like.
13 has always been my lucky number! I’ll relieve you of any fears and take it off your hands.
It may be worth looking into licensing and just adding to the cost.
I've been playing a little bass tonight, and I think I found my favorite. SBVT -> emulated 6L6 power section -> Shift Line Ampeg 810 IR in Gondwana. Sounds sooooooo gooooood. An actual bass IR makes a huge difference over a guitar voiced IR.

@Sushi Box FX - that Godnwana looks really cool - how long a IR sample will it support, do you know? the Mooer Radar supports 23ms of IR, and the Two Notes Cab M supports 40-200. I've played around with IR files in Logic for the Radar (mixing my own from 2-3 commercial ones to get my NHT electronic upright to sound more natural) and it does seem the longer the sample support the better...
Dark Stars through the HWSH oh yeah... Slampegg mini will be on the block shortly. Empress Bass compressor as well I expect... It seems to do more harm than good after the Sushiboxes and I have compression at the board anyway... The Empress is cool by itself but that isn't the way I'll use it...
PAx into the HWSH... very nice. Oodles of clean gain on tap. Got a little bit of high pitched noise. Not sure what that is about. I could live with it live. Recording probably not but recording I'm likely on a wholly other signal chain anyway... direct to Great River pre and plug ins.
Anyone running the Deep Dish after their SB Preamps ?
How cleanly do the gains stack ? I like it clean, clean, clean with that electric, juicy tube warmth and presence and air. Fender Showman Amp (as opposed to dual showman) is kinda my reference point. Maybe a GK 700 or 1001 RBII with something tubey driving it. I used an Alecpmbic F2B into a GK for quite a while...
My demo rig today was Lecompte dual dark star single cut into pedals into soundcraft UI24 into 2 stacks of QSC 181 sub and db tech ingenia IG3T's. In my project space it was ... adequate ;-) I kept it reigned in but I really wanted to hear what it will sound like in my typical FOH setup. and it was good! very good! I think PAx or HWSH alone are the winners. Stacking was cool but ultimately they seem to be two different flavors of ...oh yeah... If you're hearing the Oh yeah from Ferris Beuller's Day Off, we're on the same page.

I got my Epiphone EB0 back from my luthier today after having a Lace Alumatone Bass Bucker installed in the bridge position along with a Tone Monster preamp.I wanted something a tad different and it sounds so nice.l plugged into my Sushi Box Sunday Drive X .It is like they're made for one another.What a great preamp,it doesn't get enough love on this thread.I'm a preamp freak and I recommend it very highly.It's breakup is so damn musical.

I ....man. every time I visit this thread, I just get more GAS. This looks fantastic, and love the adjustments via USB.
So for those of us thinking about the various phases, what preamp are you thinking about for the final phase preamp?
Reading this makes me very happy. I have a Sunnday Drive incoming, and I cannot wait to hear what it does with my darkstar.
I'm going to have to play with it, but I'm thinking two-channel will be the way to go. I'll probably design something new specifically for it, as it seems to like some preamps better than others. It definitely needs the input level adjustment on the outside, as a hot clean preamp will push the input tube stage into overdrive. On guitar with black Eye in front I left the input level all the way up and it added some lovely breakup on top of Black Eye's dirt, but on bass with UA in front of it I had to choke it to stop it from breaking up.
Will you be offering the Gondwana Phase 3 for sale, or are you just working towards the final product?
The SVT style tone stack is by far my favorite for bass. I'm hoping Gondwana has a James tone stack. It would really set it apart from Shift Line Olympic's baked-in mid scoop (fender style tone stack).
I haven't decided yet. Based on initial testing phase 3 seems like a usable product, just need to decide if it's usable enough to figure out a price and start building more of them.
I'd like to try one for sure, whether it's Phase 3 or 5.
Could it handle a line-level output from a standalone preamp? Or is the input gain structured more for instrument level signal?
Also, if I could offer a cosmetic suggestion, I'd say change the knob labels to simply "Input" (or "Gain") and "Output". "In Lvl" and "Out Lvl" looks cluttered to my eye.
That's kind of the idea behind the input level control, you can dial it in for either one. It definitely sounds better with a preamp in front, just the power amp sim and IR without a preamp feels a little lacking.
