That's kind of the idea behind the input level control, you can dial it in for either one. It definitely sounds better with a preamp in front, just the power amp sim and IR without a preamp feels a little lacking.

Also, further to my question above, your pedal preamps all seem capable of providing a nice sounding instrument level output (ie. unity level with the input signal), with enough volume on tap to hit line level if you wanted. Some of my standalone preamps (Broughton P15 for example) are limited to line level output only and can't be brought down to unity input level (instrument level) without affecting the tone (it's master volume only with no gain control). It would be great if the Gondwana could accept a hot line level signal without overdriving. Maybe a switchable pad on the input wouldn't be a bad thing.

Another example of this would be if you wanted to run an output from an amp FX loop send into the Gondwana, then out to a DI and to the board.

Well I mean, I didn't write the software The IR module itself and the software to configure it is made by AMT Electronics, I just designed the input/output tube stages and the microcontroller that controls the screen and the patch switching. The AMT module plugs into the board I designed.

Still waiting on parts to finish up the handwired UA and Finally, but got the Slampegg wired up last night. Sounds freaking incredible, now I want to try a 5751 in it.

Yup, exact same circuit, just different components and higher voltage.

I have absolutely no idea. Definitely no sooner than March. I'll get back to you on that one.

Comparing V1.0 and the hand-wired versions of the Space Heater, the HW is noticeably different.
It sounds bigger, and more articulate.
There's also more available clean gain before it reaches break-up territory.

Just finished a tentative layout for handwired Dr. Wattson. It was not very fun, but the ends justify the means.

I'm really glad I'm not rushing to release these new handwired versions as I'm finding mistakes and better ways of doing things, so there will be revisions to at least a couple boards. I think the handwired UA design is good so far, DW is (hopefully) good, Slampegg has 2 things I want to change to be better, and Finally has about 6 I think.

So anyway, thanks everyone for continuing to fund my pedal building addiction
