I used to run Strider Knives web site, before the company split - each knife was customizable, engraving, pivot, slab, slab type ect. We would have over 60 blades gone in a matter of seconds, first two drops with the new site crashed it, these were 95% people turning them at the next Blade show. I wasn't trying to bring up the limit thing, just because I see it elsewhere, figured I'd ask, and that's one of the things I find fascinating with Broughton, I see the same thing happening as I did with Strider with them, sales wise, and now I see it up and coming with this company. I will say one thing, that solves most of it, customer accounts with username/ID login, filtered the majority of this behavior, and makes it easier to order for future/repeat customers, having emails for newsletters is cool too
The whole slot thing is touchy, there will be someone down the road that needs money, maybe for another pedal, and sells their slot to friend, they can get their pedal they want then and there (especially with the knowledge that their pedal won't be built until 4 months out), and yes like a trade they'll mail it off when they get it. Might even buy another slot the next month for the same pedal, I don't see anything wrong with that per say, that's between those two, sales of slots will happen, just limit the amount for under 3-4 or something, I know of 3 pedals I want here that if they were available I'd get them.
