I'm using the 6SL7 tube on this one, so unfortunately there's absolutely no way to fit it in a 125B. It will be going in a 1590BBS, which is the same length and width as a 1590BB (Dr. Wattson, JC Emerald, etc.) but as tall as a 125B (UA, Slampegg, More, etc).
On that note I revised the board layout last night and will be ordering prototype boards shortly. I was BARELY able to squeeze in the Lightning Boy D.I. output, but it's something I decided I wanted. I was originally planning to put in a 1x15" IR-based cabsim for the full fliptop-in-a-box, but it was turning into a huge pain and would have pushed the price beyond what I wanted it to be. So I instead opted for a switchable fixed HPF, like @Mayo Fan mentioned.
Also something a bit unusual for me, I took out the footswitch because there wasn't really a way for me to make it fit. So as-designed right now, my v1.1 prototype controls will be:
- Gain - obviously; 6SL7 instead of 12AX7 so it won't have as much drive as Slampegg Bee Pre, but it will be able to get some nice Ampegg-y grind
- Volume - again obvious, but trying something different on this one. The volume knob will only affect the 1/4" output, and there will be a separate internal trimpot to set the level of the XLR output. This is something I've had people ask about, independent level controls so you can turn up/down the volume to your amp without affecting the FOH level
- Bass/Treble - same James stack as used in Slampegg Bee Pre and Lab Rat. Both controls are boost/cut, both knobs at 12:00 is "flat"
- HPF (toggle) - rolls off 6dB per octave below 90Hz, similar to the Noble's rolloff switch
- Dry Pass/Pre Out (toggle) - like the switch on the Finally, gives you the option of the 1/4" output being a dry passthrough or a preamp-affected out
- Ground Lift (toggle) - grounds or decouples pin 1 of the XLR output to reduce ground loop noise on the balanced line
