Not only would it be appropriate, it would be a great idea for everybody to post pictures of their Geddy-inspired gear here... after all... it was Geddy who inspired us all to put "2112" into our usernames...
I didn't bought the Geddy. I went for the '70 of the Jazz Bass which.. kinda sounded better to me. But it was mostly the neck difference that got me hooked to the '70 MIM

According to the Rush forums, 2112 is play on the 1812 Overture, i.e. the 2112 Overture. Alex even plays a snippet of it during the song, and they have cannons at the end, like the 1812 Overture.
