Did you see the tab on the website for the Roadster? I've always wondered why car companies don't make vintage "reissues" like guitar companies, but that is the closest thing I've seen. At $150K, it better be an amazingly fun car, though.

I have a Tesla Roadster, the 466th vehicle that Tesla ever built. During that time, Elon was down to his last dollars and sleeping on his friends couch. Now that Tesla has become a hugh mega company, the collectors are now buying up these very rare roadsters and driving the prices sky high. Since it is estimated that there are fewer than 1500 of these roasters still on the road, Tesla is now just giving minimum support for spare parts. Since I am not a collector and as I get older it is somewhat difficult to enter and exit the cockpit as the car sits extremely low. I will be putting the car up for auction in the next few months probably via "Bring A Trailer" website. Yes, I will miss it but it is time to move on.

I either walk or drive by the same gas station most every day. In the past week, they've gone from $3.65 to $3.95 to $4.15 to $4.65.

EDIT: And diesel is now $5.59 at that station. Yikes.

The price of nickel is surging as investors take stock of the new global reality: Russia, a key supplier of the metal, is now facing extensive sanctions following its Invalid Link Removed.

In an unusual step, the London Metal Exchange Invalid Link Removed on Tuesday morning after three-month contract prices more than doubled to over $100,000 per ton.

Nickel is a critical ingredient in the lithium-ion battery cells used in most electric vehicles sold in — and planned for — the U.S. market. Its abrupt price surge has analysts and investors raising hard questions about automakers’ ambitious electric-vehicle programs.

Morgan Stanley auto analyst Adam Jonas has been among the loudest voices raising concerns. In a Invalid Link Removed, he said: “As of this writing, nickel is up 67.2% just today, representing around a $1,000 increase in the input cost of an average EV in the U.S.”

Hooray! Finally! Just installed and tried the latest FSD Beta on my 2018 Model 3 LR! I had just managed to cull my bad turn habit and gotten my safety score up to 96, just in time for them to release this level to everyone 95 and above! I'm overjoyed!

Already found a couple of turns it didn't quite handle, but it is pretty amazing watching it drive itself even on "no lines" country roads. Impressive.

Well, I'm in for another 500+ shares of $TSLA at/under $200 this week. Seatbelt fastened, ready for an exciting (potentially terrifying) ride. :eek::hyper::eek::hyper::eek::hyper::eek::hyper::eek:

Yeah, they're having a rough go of it. My impression is that they're struggling on the "ramp-up" curve, just like Tesla was doing in 2018 when I bought mine - they very nearly didn't make it, were within a couple of weeks of bankruptcy before it got turned around. All of the other mfgers are going to be experiencing that pain Real Soon Now though, as they try to compete in the new landscape Tesla is building without them...

What is this landscape of which you speak? I think Tesla’s (and probably Rivians) market share might have to be impacted by all the lower cost EVs coming on the market. At least it seems that way in Europe.
I’m living in Portugal now, there are quite a lot Teslas here, but also a lot of euro and asian EVs everywhere.
The most popular E-car in Portugal is a Peugeot 2008, which is essentially the same drivetrain/battery as our DS.
(We did end up getting the DS Etense D3 I referenced earlier, and it’s been a great vehicle for our needs.)

My brother picked me up to go for a drive fully "autonomous". He just got that feature on his S and was trying it out.

Worked pretty good tracking the loops, curves and the roundabouts. When turning onto a small narrow street it was too close for comfort to the cars on the right side as well as the 25mph was too fast for the road, though that is the posted speed.

A few overrides but it did ok.
I would only use it for the open road.
