The Trace Elliot V-type Club!!

I just picked up a V4 Mk1 from Reverb. Looking forward to getting this in. There's barely any clips out there so I've been wanting to try one of the all tube V-Types in person for a while now. Since it's based on a Fender tone stack I don't see why I wouldn't like it.

One piece that's eluded me is if you can get some decent overdrive tones from the preamp?

Borrowing a listing pic for now...

If you fully crack the gain and shift the mids, I find you can get a pretty fun distortion but perhaps not usable in a band situation. Doing the opposite to drive the output stage it's a lovely warmth fuzzy, but too loud in most of my situations!

As Wasnex has said, it's definitely more of a cleaner amp. Can say honestly it handles pedals and hot signals very well. For heavier parts in songs I have a cranked DG X7 and the sound could take down a house.

That's a really nice and clean example, but if you don't know the history I'd consider getting it checked over due to it's age.

Just picked up this 600H.

Hello,

I have a V type 5001. I get a buzzy sound that follows certain notes on the bass. It's not my bass as I do not have this issue with other amps. And the sound is coming thru the speakers. Any idea what the issue could be?
