What do you mean? You leave the bowl of crunchies out for all day grazing.I assume that the wide-eyed kitten is looking at some other pet's food bowl. No one would feed a kitten that size that much food. Right?

I'm allergic to some cats, so I've been a dog person my whole life. With dogs, if you put a lot of food in a bowl, they will eat it all. Now. The result? Overweight dogs. Mine have fresh water available 24/7. They get weight-measured meals twice per day. They are old, but still very fit. I just wish that I had the same discipline with food that I enforce on my puppers. French bakeries, pastry shops and cheese shops have done their job of me.
