Hmmm... Never really thought about it that way. I guess it would have to depend on how dark the finish comes out, parchment could be cool too I suppose.

Hi fellow clubbers,
I want to let you know that, later today, I will be putting up #61 for sale. It was the first of two Valenti basses I know of with a spalted maple top. I'm putting it up (along with a MIM Suhr-era Deluxe V) to raise funds. Kind of bittersweet, but it is what it is. If anyone here is interested, send me a 'interest PM' and you will be first in line to be consider the bass when the FS ad hits.

I have a bunch of gigs on this now.
It continues to grow on me. I usually take two basses to every gig. Sometimes one works better than the other, sometimes I just like to play more than one.
Last gig I went to, I used this all four sets and surprised myself.
I didn't switch to a J bass for songs that I usually like "more of a bridge pup sound for," I just moved my right hand back towards the bridge.
While the B string isn't as "hefty" as on my active J-Basses, it really "shouldn't be" as there's no preamp buffering effect here (obviously). So, after you "re-think that" the B-string is juuuust fine.
The Nord side-by-side single coil doesn't hum, has plenty of highs (in fact, I usually trim passive tone by 20-30%), and she barks and cuts just like a single coil P should.
