The Valenti Megathread Part IV

The bass is "a little more used" than I expected; it has a couple thru the paint dings I think I can correct, and the clear has "swirls" in it.
Really, this is ok, it means it got played: good basses get played. I'm always a little leery of "pristine" used basses.

The "conversion" came out very well. Very well.
It plays and sounds freakin' stellar.

I've always been a fan of the "51" single coil P thing.
The Nord "side-by-side" single coil remains very crisp, bright and punchy.

I've never minded the slab bodies, but, it's nice having the contoured forearm bout.

Nino does really good work.

Got my Valenti shirt in the mail yesterday, wearing it to teach the youth of America today!

Big, big thumbs up from the gig with this.
Crisp, clean, punchy. Fatter down though than I would have expected. Very snappy on top, even with the side-by-side humbucker "single coil."
Band mates, all noticed it, and commented on what a great looking/sounding bass it was; that's something...they often don't notice, and, I have "a pretty competitive toolbox," if you follow that.

As always, with Nino:
"exceeding expectations = meeting expectations.

Well, I'm back in the club again. I got #085 back in a trade. I couldn't be without her any longer. When I got her back, she had a ramp installed which is exactly what this bass needed. It really allows me to get quicker with the plucking hand. They also installed an EMG 40P in the neck position. It's really not too much different than the 40J that was installed but I may switch it back just to get it back to the original condition when I first ordered it.

Anyway, it's nice to have her back in the arsenal!

Thanks guys. I'm playing her for the first time live, again, tomorrow morning at a church service. Then I've got a rehearsal and a gig tomorrow night so she's gonna get broken in again real quick. I also have a recording session on Friday and this bass always recorded nicely so I got it back at the right time.
