The Walking Dead: Season Five

Then Glen would have had to drag him back to Alexandria.

I didn't say put him in a coma, lol. Glen barely submitted the dude within an inch of his life, and is still bleeding profusely. Pistol whip him and tie his hands at least. This was not the end of a bar fight in a spring break movie. Let's see a little more pragmatism rule the writing again, is all I'm saying.

I just started watching the show and I'm not looking for spoilers, but I wanna know what I'm in for. So far the dialogue is cheesy and predictable. I'll keep going for now but tell me this: do they ever go into the backstory of the walkers? Do they explain what happened? Do they explain the zombie....errrr...I mean walker anatomy or anything? That's the kinda scifi I find really interesting.

What I don't find interesting is a lot of filler episodes. Are there many of those? Is there a lot of uninteresting back story to waste time between bombshells?

Right. This isn't about the Zombies. It's about the humans trying to survive and find a place where they can live with some normalcy. For the most part it doesn't work out that way. Cannibals, tyrants, dictatorships, are all encountered.

There remains little research ability in the new world (so far) to get to the cause of the apocalypse. The character simply presume it's a viral issue.

It's about dashed hope and how it dehumanizes the characters with time and how they constantly try to hold onto some modicum of dignity.

If you find it sophomoric then skip it. It's just TV escapism, not Shakespeare. You either relax and ride or you don't.

Zombie thread! Nice.

The more you think about the zombies, the less sense it makes (how do they keep moving for years without food? Why do the bodies stay alive without blood or lungs even if cut in half? How are the survivors not infected even though they are constantly sprayed with zombie insides? Etc).

The point of the show is, it doesn't matter. People are MUCH scarier than zombies.

Sounds like Gorn wants a show with a bunch of lab coats standing around talking biochemspeak with lots of electron microscope shots and people smearing agar in Petri dishes to grow cultures.

"Geez Dr. Whippersnapper, the agar must have been contaminated. Our cultures died. And we were so close this time."

"Never mind that Billy. Our real problem is that we're almost out of electrons for the microscope. Where am I supposed to get more electrons in the zombie apocalypse?"

Stuff like that. :D

Not really. I just want a small fraction or that. I'm fine with a story about people, but throw some scifi nonsense in there to keep the nerds interested.
Well I hope you didn't mind my little play. A wet paper match in the recesses of my mind lit and spewed forth that tidbit of ridiculous theatre. I recommend that all readers avoid that post. This forum cannot be held responsible for any brain injuries sustained as a result.
