Whoah! Great idea! They could be in all ripped and trashed highwater bellbottoms and platform boots! Just like Kiss!

Oh man, this idea has got legs. Let's run with it!

Ohh, I don't like the implications of this at all. Next thing you are going to tell me is that Nixon invented redactions!

Oh, no, I do like and make electronic music. I'm just saying that these retro trends in electronic music are still too electronic and not retro enough for a lot of TBers.

Fair enough! Wouldn't it be fun to live at a time when popular club music was a live band? I would have torn the disco scene up and taken it in a whole new direction, like Miles.

I didn't like Disco at the time, because I didn't want live music to be displaced by DJs. I also didn't like that America's musical taste was being dictated by John Travolta movies, especially when Urban Cowboy came out and our Booking Agent told us to "adapt".

I came to like Disco later, sorta.

When I try to listen to "Studio 54" on Sirius XM, it does occur to me that the "Disco standard gems" that I've come to like, represent a tiny fraction of what Disco was as a whole. A lot of it just an incessant thud with lame music and lyrics. If you're clubbing full of cocaine and the point of your life is just one big big social hunt, I suppose it worked for that.
