bookmatched Maple burl top on an Alder body 5-string I'm building

the image definitely does not do the top justice. I used almost an entire bottle of CA filling the holes in this piece, but they are now nice and solid

Hehehee, I knew after posting that might get a few laughs......only coz I'm ******** and somehow I messed up my foot the other week.....just felt more comfortable with the damn shoe off!

Oh, wait! There's the missing shoe!

any shop where one is able to walk barefoot is obviously not getting enough work done! (my shop is the mess of all messes, I'm just too lazy to clean up only to turn on the safe-t-planer and see the same mess all over again). I mean, look at that floor, is that carpeting for the love of all that is good!?!?!?

Well, if it was my garage I'm sure it would be much messy-er....but it's my folks and I'm not that productive at the moment. It's really easy to sweep up, and I do the major woodchuckin in the woodchips on the side yard otherwise my toads would be super pissed. And for the love of Jesus, no, it's not carpet, just a foam mat to aid in the suspension a little.

this is camatillo bTW a piece for the record books! one of the best peices ive ever seen in wood , ever!
crazy crazy camatillo!!! (dalbergia congestiflora my fav rosewood, love its smell too!)

And for the walnut fans, a custom neck and body I just shipped to Bassman74.....walnut and Alder body, maple neck with Pau ferro FB and Walnut overlay on headstock

no, doesn't do it for me... The upper horn looks blemished and that bit on the upper body where the chamfer reveals the body wood just looks wrong. To me, the top isn't thick enough, it should go to the edge. And the "join" on the bottom just looks gash as well.

nice finish, I just hate the shape of the upper body... it just doesn't do it for me... it needs a horn.

I'm a personal fan of the sei body shapes, so I like everything about that bass, great mac ebony top and back too!
