The world's most expensive bass...

It's just a marketing ploy to get the Ritter name out. His actual cost was significantly lower.
The original asking price was $100,000. That thing's been around for a long time. It will never sell for $250K.

Six tort pickguards and all the flats in the world still won't make it a P bass.

I can't believe he hasn't sold that dog yet! Cripes. What is the world coming too? I guess rock stardom just isn't what it used to be. In the old days rock stars would be lining up to buy just so they could say they owned it... Oh wait. We are talking bass players here... Nevermind.
Jens did sell it. It's now at Wynn & Company Jewelry in Las Vegas. It's been there for a long time and will be there for a long time at that price. I guess they're waiting for some high-roller from Dubai to come in and buy it as a wall hanging.
