Theme Bass...

Orange County Choppers got famous by building "Theme" bikes, like the Jet Bike, Statue of Liberty Bike, etc. Wondering if anyone here has a bass guitar that was built around a theme, such as their favorite sports team, classic car, anything that pays tribute to something and is easily recognizable as such. I have been wanting to build a bass of this type, but I need some ideas to give me a kick start. Pictures would really help(guitars as well as basses).

I built a bass inspired by the 1970s Porsche Gulf 917 race cars.

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. I once thought about painting the body like an old Dr. Pepper sign, then aging it to make it look about 50 years old. I have painted signs before, but not sure that I could pull it off without looking cheesy. Keep em coming...

I might one day do a project bass centered around the Toronto Maple Leafs...white P or J body with some kind of graphic or design reflecting my fav team...maple blocked neck for sure.

Love the Porsche inspired bass. old European Race cars have a certain great characteristic look!

The original intent of my pink Lakland JO5 was to be reminiscent of the '50s diner counters in drug stores, with the pink upholstery, pearloid Formica counter tops with chrome edging, chrome malt machines and maple wood trim. It turned out better than I had hoped. It's now The Bass for the Cure.
