There's 3 in my yard. I steal and eat their eggs. I also chase them when the notion strikes me.
The egg doesn't come from the butt, it's comes from a "vent". A random country kid told me that while I was viewing these birds at the Wilson County Fair.
I don't recall why she told me this information, but she was dead serious that I know it.

I laughed at first. But a combination of chicken breast with egg called the "Mother and Child Reunion" strikes me on afterthought as rather diabolical

Our first chicken was a Rhode Island Red that wandered into our yard. Great fowl! She was followed by numerous Shens and other chickens. You could order chicks on line and they would arrive in the mail in a shipping tube. Sadly, they all succumbed to fox and coyotes. But what fresh eggs.
