There’s a chicken in my yard.

My girls always find it interesting when I bring an instrument out.

Cows come over when they hear a trombone.

I was on the verge of starting up a chicken operation to raise certain types with capes valuable to fly tiers. Then I recalled my dad talking about having to look after their family chicken house when he was a kid and that being the reason he still dislikes chicken to this day. They are messy, stinky, vindictive little A-holes who will peck your eyes out if you give them even half a chance, but cut up and fried they are seriously good. Or were, but since my self imposed elimination of fried foods i wouldn’t know any more.

In Eastern Europe, there is a long standing predjudice against gypsies (tzigane) for assumed thievery. Before the people were resettled into apartments, it was said they would go stealing chickens on farms by tying corn to string and when the chicken swallowed the corn, it could be reeled in noiselessly. This is what we referred to as "choking the chicken" which is much different than what americans think.

Lets just say my kids flipped out when our overseas family started drinking and telling stories at the wedding.
