No worries, I wasn't really going for a glass half full OR half empty to be honest, more like: here's a empty glass and a bottle of beer next to it, now we get to decide what to do with it :)

mmmmbeer TGIF

Now THAT is something we can agree on with no long explanations from either of us! Raining here and the cleaning lady just left. Nothing at all to do here. Nothing.

I think I'll go get a glass and stare at it while I drink a beer. :smug:

Discourse is always fun. I have some strong opinions on some very controversial subjects and always ready to discuss them. There are no taboo subjects with me when it comes to argument.

* Do not take it personally and/or become upset. Those feelings are yours alone, and usually due to your inability to see any perspective other than your own, or an inability to let go of long held irrational ideas. If you can't argue logically, and with common sense, break away and do some thinking.
* Do not invoke the supernatural. I don't want to break forum rules here, so that's all I'm saying.
* I won't interrupt you if you don't interrupt me.
* I will admit when I'm wrong. Will you?

I have learned a little bit about human nature over the years. Me learn? Shocking
I have been in group situations where someone comes against me really hard. Sometimes if I don't react to that person and let them carry on I find the rest of the group coming to my defense.
I once spent a rainy Chritmas Eve bringing a twelve step meeting to a de-tox in San Francisco. This paticular one is mostly populated by homeless people who go there for three days to get off the street and sober up. They call it three hots and a cot. When I had meetings there the people where at best indifferent or sometimes hostile. Occasionally there was one or two people who were interested and that made it worthwhile.
This night I bought a carton of Camels for the residents. I started the meeting and there was a rough looking guy there who was all over me. His face was scarred up and part of his ear was missing. I let him rage on until the other residents started getting on him and taking my side.
He got more and more angry arguementative. At one point I looked him in the eye and said "You know, you're a pretty smart guy. So smart that you are spending Christmas in this place." That did it, he jumped up, grabbed a pack of cigarettes, screamed a few threats towards me and went out to spend Christmas Eve in the rain to teach me a lesson. After he left the rest of the residents participated in the meeting much more than they usually did.
I have to admit I took a good look around to see if he was waiting for me as I headed out the door for my car.
If you pay attention you will see this happening here on TB sometimes.

mais oui!
