Would it be legal to name a band "Sí" or "Ja"? You could manage a pretty cool Roger Dean treatment with "Oui".

I would go see any version with Jon Anderson singing. Add Rick Wakeman to the lineup and there is no doubt at all. If they come to Phoenix hopefully I will have a job and can afford tickets.

But I am strange, I don't like other singers taking over in bands I like. Not even Dio with Sabbath. To me the vocals are the strongest thing.

And supposedly, according to vaguely remembered quotes, in the 80's they considered using "Oui" as a name. Not sure if it was serious or a joke, but I remember it being talked about.

This must have changed after Squire died. I saw Anderson in NYC a year or two before that & he wasn't using the Yes name at all.

According to the articles linked above, that is exactly the case. Anderson would not use the Yes name as long as Squire was using it, but with his death that changed.

Strange. The Anderson camp had been touring as ARW (Anderson, Rabin, and Wakeman) but suddenly changed over to YES not long before the Hall of Fame induction. Not sure if the Steve Howe camp are still touring or what. I've seen that version with and without Squire and they were fair, though I thought the newer singer, Jon Davison, was much better than the previous fellow. Going to see the Anderson camp in September. I wonder if they have some sort of name sharing thing going on, but I can't imagine both groups touring under the same name at the same time.

Actually both are good bands When I started this thread I was in no way trying to say or imply that one was better than the other ... both are really good professional bands

But it is a unique thing to have 2 bands called Yes

I guess if I were to see a show it would be with Anderson singing. But, in reality it's not Yes without Squire, or Bruford to me. White was a replacement for Bruford and The Bruford era is my favorite.
