These Black Beuties are nice but.....

I put a set on my Stingray the other day, went to practise and ended up changing back to the lo-Riders that were on there previously when I got home. Same gauge but completely screwed up my action due to them just being too floppy, was buzzing everywhere.

Little Update: I've gotten them broken in on my Thunderbird, about 15 hours or so on em. They are starting to really feel good now. I was skeptical the first few hours, but now I love these beauties! I think you just gotta be patient and break em in cuz I'm playing faster because my action is lower and more precise because the black coating let's me slide around the neck easier. I'm sold on em.

Strange... I have a 40-125 set of Black Beuties on my Epi T-bird ProV and they are not floppy at all. In fact thanks to them I managed to get a ridiculously low action. (previous strings were XLs, same gauge)

Really? I love my Black Beauties, but the only thing I don't like is that sliding is much rougher with the coating. They chew up my fingers, and going back to my other bass with Elixirs is like going from sandpaper to a slip-and-slide.

Frustration hits! I was tuning my E string when it came unraveled. Now the E is useless :-( anyone know where I can buy just the E? Or am I f***ed? If i can't buy just the E I'm out $33.00. And will just go back go regular DR's. I Googled single black beauties E for bass, nothing. Quite pissed at this moment.
