They Do Make 'em Like That Anymore Thread

Fender is making basses as good as they used to, right now.

I have not been paying attention for years, so I really didn't know this.

I remember the early 2000's and Fender's apathy towards producing really well crafted instruments in the USA (I was a strat player back then). That strat is long gone, and it was not something I regret selling.

Indeed. My recent year American Standard Jazz and AVRI '57 Precision are eye-opening examples for me.

I would also add that having played Rickenbacker basses for over 40 years,my most recent purchase of a 2015 Laredo makes me think the product is still as good,if not better ,than ever.
(The Laredo isn't pictured,as it's out having a few mods done.....)

I bought a Ric 6 string years ago, and was astonished at the high level of quality. I have no doubt they are still doing it. The wiring was so clean and efficient, I don't think I've ever seen a mass produced guitar that had that much attention given to it.
