I have yet to see one that was set up anywhere close to decent enough to play. If they played alright, they look cool, and that in of itself is pretty awesome for $400 bucks. Although, I would prefer a nat. korina explorer.

I've always liked the Explorer shape (although it can't exactly be billed as "comfortable", at least for me) but the headstock on those Epiphones isn't banana-shaped enough for my taste. These are the ones I really like:

Korina is an expensive wood(IIRC), not to mention, that by all accounts, these Epi's are said to be nicer than their Gibson counterparts.

I may be wrong, but I believe that these only have a korina veneer. I think that their bodies are alder, necks are maple.

I'm sure they're solid korina, as the painted versions are marked as korina too.
