Tal Wilkenfeld is younger than my eldest daughter but older than my youngest. Not just a great bass player but I enjoy her compositions as well.

I saw Def Leppard back up Ozzy in 1979. I think it was Ozzy’s first tour with Randy Rhodes. Almost no one knew who Def Leppard was. A small civic center of 5000 people. I thought it was cool at the time that the bassist was my age. I think the Drummer was only 16. When you’re a kid, you think, “They can do it ... maybe I can too.”
Yes and more noticeably so thanks to MTV. All we had was "In Concert" and "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert"...and we were thankful for those programs!

Sure. The drummer in one of my bands, who's been with us for years, is at least that much younger than the other five of us.
^^^Yup. I've been gigging for the past ~10 years with a drummer who's almost 30 years younger than me. Every now and then there are cultural references one of us makes that the other doesn't get, but for the most part we get along like rational adults who happen to be sympathetic artists in pursuit of the same muse.

Embarrassingly I have no idea who that is...
Not bad considering that, in the original lineup of Spirit, drummer Ed Cassidy was ~28 years older than Randy California!
yea i am still living in the 90s as far as culture i like but
when your playing music i guess it just doesnt matter
i think younger people are a lot more open minded now

I'm old enough to remember when it was a manly rite of passage the first month one was older than the Playboy centerfold. That was a long-a$$ time ago.
Re OP: I've never given it much thought but I'd have to say either Sloan or Radiohead. They were probably the last two bands of which I was ever a drooling, playlist-making "fan."

Tatia Starkey, who obviously didn’t take over the family business of drumming. Zak’s daughter. And I believe she has a child now, so Ringo is a great grandfather.

i know some people who are so old they're dead --- and they still kick a$$! i honestly haven't felt "weird" about the issue since i was a youngster myself (when age mattered and it was easy to practice ageism publicly!). it's difficult for a 17-year-old to think about being schooled by a 13-year-old, right?
just lost (via an out-of-state move) a fine keyboardist who is 40 years younger than me --- we played together for ~8 years! what we both had in common = neither one of us knew any better!
it was all about the music!
What weirds me out is seeing the adult children of musicians younger than me…
