Thin Lizzy - Phil Lynott

Just in case anyones interested, a photo from Wikipedia of the bronze statue on Lynott in Dublin. If any of you get over to Ireland, definitely make a wee trip round to see it.
How close is Phil to Rory ?
I saw Thin Lizzy in the late 70s, probably the Jailbreak tour. GREAT show ! Phil was in great form & Robbo & Scotty tore it UP !!!!!!
SOME DAY I'll journey to the mother-land & take it all in...along with a TRUE Guinness
... I have family in the Cork area & have always wanted to go.

Yeah, Thats what i feel to.. For instance, it was Downey who wrote "Cowboy Song".
You have to excuse me....I'm a guitarist 1st & always look to those fellas.
And as much as I love Gary Moore's playing (Sykes too for that matter !), Rob & Scott had a certain something together.
Rory was an early hero who also died too young & a fellow Irishman who has a spot in Dublin in his honor.
No slant to Mr. Downey & I should've included him too. Definitely the glue in the band & Cowboy Song is probably my favorite to play !
GREAT band that really never got it's due, if you ask me.....If "Classic Radio" had it's say, The Boys Are Back In Town is the only one worth mentioning by them & is probably the only TL song a lot of guys know.
And that's a shame !

So soon I will be playing "The Rocker" @ a gig.

Indeed. Brian Downey is a criminally underrated drummer. A very "musical" drummer if you understand what I'm saying....

The Rory Gallagher tribute in Dublin is (verrry) roughly a mile away from the Phil Lynott statue. Definitely worth seeing both. (When you've had a real pint of Guinness, you'll be wondering what that shite you've been drinking for years is but don't drink it at Dublin airport, its absolutely AWFUL there! If you make plans to come over, send me a message and I'll tell you a few bars worth checking out!
Beautiful city, and the statue is in a great, fun section of town. Here's 'me and Phil' about a year ago....
Did you get a pint in Bruxelles when you were there? A 10minute walk away and you could've had a GREAT one!
As a matter of fact ... I do ! Anyone know what effect he used for this song ? Or his gear (amp , effects) in general ? I've read some other threads and there seems to be a debate weather it's a flanger or a phaser .
