either way, it was really ****ty, he donated it to cars for tots, 2 months later i saw my car being worked on at a garage my friend works at. apparently they take the cars, and sell them to local garages. ugh, i really wanted to just steal it since i still had the title and the keys, but i just sucked it up.

for a 1976 impala, that was kept outside, in a shore area(salty air), that i paid $200, it was in good shape.Tim Cole said:

the oil leak is something i could not control. it happends sometimes when a car has 117.000 miles and is 20 something years old. the knocking came because my mother drove the car around for 2 weeks without checking the oil(though the light comes on when it gets low) and basically ran it untill it was pretty close to seizing.
the tires and rims were being replaced because i was going to be rebuilding it all, and i thought daytonas would look a lot better then stock hubcaps.
as for it being junked. my grandfather thought it would be a money pit, even with the little amount of work that needed to be done/that i did. he made a poor judgement call.
