A friend was in a band names Osmet Park. I asked how he came up with the name. He said they were going through the age old sit around and try to come up with a name and nothing works scene. Someone suggested they open a phone book and use the first name on the left page and the last name on the right page and that would be the band name.

I just thought it sounded cool. Somehow I didn't make the connection to "Earth shaking". Good call!

I have a great name for a country band squirreled away in my head, but I can't tell anybody unless they're really going to use it. I hope it's never been taken.

I always thought the chess term En Passant would be a great name for a band.

Their first album would be titled either "Queen's Gambit Accepted," or "Queen's Gambit Declined" (two fairly standard chess openings).

Which of those two do you guys prefer? I can't quite decide myself....
