For the Tri-State area folks like myself I went on a trip here when I was young with my parents brother, Aunt Uncle cousins and Grand Parents you will see later why that is important all jumped in my Uncles 1960 something station wagon and had a great time until I got separated from the group somehow and they were nearly half way home before doing a head count and found they left me there alone! I was 6 at the time they found me some lady had me and was feeding me cotton candy
My parents did this to me one time on a trip between KC and Cali.

Yep. But really fun! The adrenaline rush you'd get each time you almost died was just fantastic.
In some ways, it's now a safer, more sensible world but it bothers me that neither of my girlfriend's 16 year olds have ever operated anything with wheels until they recently got their driving learners permits.
Oh I remember the sled on wheels headfirst into whatever you weren't able to steer clear of yeah no brakes drag you toes and hope for the best or dive off and take on some road rash scars. nothing a little Mercurochrome couldn't fix see how I did that ha ha ha Link Removed

For me growing up, my parents used Merthiolate. It's probably pretty much the same thing.
although they were different chemically they both contained Mercury and in fear of Mercury poisoning they are ban in a few countries including the US in 1998

Aside from the last one, this isn't early Batman at all though. the middle one is mid 70's. By then he hadn't used a gun in about 35 years. In this story it just seemed like he had shot Talia but he hadn't really. Not sure what year is the first pic but this is clearly not early Batman either. He just used the gun to keep these guys from escaping. The last one is 1939 or 1940. By the time they introduced Robin, they got rid of the gun.
