Yep, they had a great annual ski clearance - we looked forward to it every year.
Video Stores
We still have a chain called Family Video that has a couple stores in our area; but, they are the only video stores remaining. They have a lot of stores but they are not in every state. Somehow, they survived after Blockbuster and others closed.

Once the last Blockbuster closed they tried to do what Redbox was doing but they eventually failed because there are a lot more Redbox's but the choices are limited on those things. Only good for watching new stuff.

I just checked the Family Video website. Sorry to say they are not in Connecticut.
Let me tell you something funny related to this AND bass. So I get a job at "Captain Video" and my boss is a guy named Dennis Dunaway. So weeks/months go by and doing my thing. One day an employee who is off that day comes in with his bass and goes into the office with Dennis. Sometime later I go into the office to ask Dennis a question but he is there with the bass and it wasn't important enough to bother him about.
I go back to the other employee I work with whom is a starving musician trying to make money to pay the bills and make his album. I say to him that I didn't know Dennis played bass and he reacts to it with a shocked face asking me over and over again do I really don't know. Well clearly I didn't and he tells me Dennis used to play for Alice Cooper which I didn't really believe.
So a week or more later I go to this mall that used to have this vinyl record store and I go in there and find an old Alice Cooper album and turn it around and low and behold there is my manager on the back of the album. Go figure!
Very cool. I always thought Dennis was quite a good bass player. Did you see this information?

No. Obviously I wasn't a much of a fan if a fan at all since I didn't know Dennis's history till someone told me. I did like the "Poison" album and a song here and there before but never a big fan. But the first link I recognized Dennis right off the bat on the far left.
Actually with me getting into bass recently I did look up Dennis and Captain Video just to see how he ended up going from famous band to being a manager of a video store in Stamford, CT. He said something about it looked like fun and I got the impression he just needed time to clear his head.
Also, Gene Wilder was a repeat customer, and him and Dennis got along. I figured due to them both being famous: more Gene than Dennis IMHO.

I just found out that Dennis wrote an autobiography called SNAKES! GUILLOTINES! ELECTRIC CHAIRS! My Adventures in the Alice Cooper Group.

Interestingly, Dennis was not on the song Poison nor the album it was from. Hugh McDonald, current Bon Jovi bassist, plays on the song Poison.
Oh I know. But that was the album that caught my ear; I think I was in Jr. High at that time. During Halloween he did bring in stuff from his touring days (this is before I knew his history) and thought: where did he get that awesome electric chair?
That is so cool that he had that stage gear. You are much younger than I am. I played "I'm Eighteen" when it was a new song. LOL!
Did I mention from Kindergarten to 3rd grade I was friends and in the same class as Pearl Aday also known as Meatloaf's daughter. I was at his recording studio with the class and we made this horrible tape: absolutely horrible. But in our defense we were in kindergarten.

Hey, you could have called your group of kids The Tater "Tots" and recorded as Meatloaf & The Tater Tots.
