My parent's house had a built in intercom kind of like this. No record player though. This is kind of cool.
I have looked at this a dozen times today. I am intimately familiar with far too much in this thread. But this one has me stumped..... Is this like a home of the future exhibit from the 1960 worlds fair or something?
These were available to purchase starting in the mid 1960s from Nutone.
There was a record player built into the wall in my high school cafeteria similar to this that kids would play albums on during lunch back in the early 1970s.

The house I live in was built in 1963 and had a NuTone intercom system. Most of it had been removed, but there were some pieces/parts that remained. I remember systems installed in the houses’ of my friends that had the radio, but I never saw one that had a record changer or reel to reel tape deck installed.

we had a system with AM/FM in one house I lived in as a kid. no record or tape player that I can remember, just intercom and radio
