Bridge anyone?

Regarding the CB ad. I used to have a Cobra and Midland sets during the 70s rage. It was all great fun back then.
We had a base station at the house, with a roof-mounted antenna, and mobile units in both cars. I kinda miss those big "fishing pole" antennas. :D That said, I don't know that I'd want one on my car now.

Catherine Bach is welcome any time, of course. ;)

Our (my dad and I) first CB was a Radio Shack basic model where you had to buy the crystals for each channel individually. Back then it was mainly ch 19 and 11.

We did eventually upgrade to a Cobra, 23 ch with SSB, if memory serves me correctly. (Might have been 40 ch...that was mid to late 70s. Long time ago. )
Being a bit of a pack rat, I have all(5)of the mobile CB's-23 and 40 ch-I ever bought. Plus one base station(Hy-Gain Utopia). Many have unauthorized channels. Had the base set up when I lived in Sweetwater(west side of Miami). Used to 'shoot skip' all over the country. Had a "Big Stick" on a 25' pole-until it got hit by lightning. I found little shards of fiberglass for months afterward. Strangely, didn't hurt the base station.
