Here's mine (not mine, but one almost exactly like it.) I did not have the tall sissy bar, just the short version. Like many of us growing up back then, we practically lived on our bikes, rode them everywhere.
Including places we prolly shouldn't have.
I remember that for months I lusted after a pneumatic-tire bike with 20" wheels to replace my horrible solid-tire 16"er. I finally got it and that was a huge step up; but then a couple years later I got to ride an "English Lightweight" - probably with 24" wheels, if any of you remember that configuration. That was really a revelation because you could get places fast, unlike the banana seat bike.
But the one that really got me started was my first ten speed with lugged frame, an old Raleigh Grand Prix.

I didn't necessarily go places I shouldn't , but if my parents knew how far away from the house I got on Saturdays when I was 8-9 years old they would have had coronaries.
When I was very young I road my bike about 2-3 miles from my house to see some Native American graves that were discovered while updating a street by the river. I looked it up recently when it happened. I was 6 years old. I’ll never forget it.
I have a Sears Free Spirit 10 speed bicycle similar to this one in my garage that I bought over 40 years ago. That tiny seat was very uncomfortable.
