Station wagons.
It's kind of a joke to me but SUVs like the Rav4 and the CR-V are actually station wagons that sit up higher and have a little less rear end space.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only amused to see the general public so enthralled with SUVs (which are essentially just station wagons that have been remolded) when the station wagon was so maligned. I guess somehow the mini-van took on the "station wagon" heat and the SUVs gave the impression of a jeeps or something. But, yeah SUVs are just Station Wagons that have been squeezed up.Station wagons.

And the much maligned Chrysler PT cruiser is pretty much a prototype SUV , reportedly built on a truck chassis to qualify for NAFTA Mexican production...
(I leave the back seats out of mine and it's a very capable mini-van... fold down the front passenger seat and it holds a stack of 8 foot 2x4s quite comfortably)

My current 'gigmobile'; 3rd row folded down, one of 2 center seats also folded. I get all I need in there with no problem.(Amp[R40, 100, or 200c], mic stand, music stand, duffel w/mics, cables, guitar stand, etc., PA [JBL EON One]-if needed, plus backup amp-P_____ Max110)

I had a few on my dresser.
A double handful of that stuff and you'll have to beat the girls off with a stick.
Learned that back in the late 80s when I bought a Bronco II. When I got the title it was classified as a 'station wagon'. That's when the connection hit me...it IS a station wagon, just with 4WD!
Hmm. I wonder how many DMVs still classify SUVs as station wagons. Or how long it took to add that classification. Government wheels turn s-l-o-w-l-y.

My wife got a Sorento almost two years ago and has no troubles with it other than it is getting harder for her to get into. I guess I should get running boards for it like I did for my truck. I don't know how it is classified.

The other night, I saw an old Roger Corman movie called, Rock All Night. Cheesy but entertaining. Anyway, I saw a cigarette girl in the movie and that triggered my mind to post to this thread.
