The black and white of Twilight Zone is what really cinched for me. Don’t forget The Outer Limits had the same other worldly allure. Color would just soften the mystery! These programs were the scariest growing up.

9 people in our household. We already had the guide from the newspaper. We didn’t get the TV Guide either.
That was the cost of a Subway token in the 60s.
Mom and dad had other priorities. The seventh sibling wasn’t even born yet. August 1961, I’m sitting in the back, 5 years old.
