1958 Sci-Fi movie It! The Terror from Beyond Space. Great movie that inspired Alien.
I bought my Son Nate one similar to this when he was 12-13. I’m an Electrical Engineer and we built amplifiers, radio receivers, simple transmitter, etc. It was pretty cool!
Now todays kids buy these Rasberry Pi or Aurdino type kits…great way to hobby electronics.
If you have a teen or grandchild and they like computers or electronics I recommend something like this for Christmas!
I’ll match you on the elementary school memory….but it wasn’t the mimeograph.
My lunchroom had this distinctive but not distasteful old wood smell when no food was being served in it. The last time I had been in it was 1967!
The next (and only other) time I experienced that exact aroma was at a Tower Records store in the mid 1990s when you were just entering the shipping room. It was there for years.
Yes, it is strange how smells can trigger a long term memory.

I remember the odor to school lunch tater-tots, and those little pizzas they made on hamburger buns, good stuff!
