I LOVED those bat kites! Flying them on the beach in Cape May - fun times.
Ditto! They were so modern, and they worked really well. Bulletproof (as much as a kite can be).
But my favorite kite memories are from when I lived in Bangkok as a boy in 65-7. The kite festivals were crazy. So many amazingly large and complex kites. We loved watching and participating.

Long time kite lover here too. Just got back a few weeks ago from the Outer Banks beaches and the kite flying was phenomenal! I have a very similar kite to the Bat kite which is essentially a flying wing. My rip stop nylon Flying Wing kite spooled out crazy fast and flew up into the clouds! Great time…
