Silly answer: That one is Cletus Jackson... He's one of those cousins nobody talks about.

Sacra-tomato (for Sacramento)! He had a telephone number you could dial to get a one-liner joke. He would end it with a burst of laughter and his characteristic snort.

In Sacramento, we listened to KFRC as much as or more than we listened to any local pop station. KROY was the main Top 40 station here in "Sacra-tomato."
Well, all I know is that when I was a boy, all the commercials for Action Jackson featured the black guy (and both black and white kids). Now you look at You Tuba and they're all for the white versions, with mostly white kids. Maybe it was regional.
Just noticing the numeric display doesn't look like it would be large enough for anything over $9.99. Possibly double digits left of the decimal point, but certainly not into the hundreds.
I was thinking it was a prop, papercraft, or maybe a dollhouse miniature of some kind. Likely non-functional, in any case.
It doesn't have the look of a real one. For one thing, the curved keyboard is required due to the way the totalizer mechanism inside functions.
On mechanical ones, yes. One of the most marked changes I remember as digital things arose was how cash registers "flattened out."
