When I studied Printing & Graphic Arts for 3 years in high school, i used an IBM Selectric typewriter to set up print copy.
These typewriters had a rotating ball with the letters and figures on it.

Speed drills. That is what they are called. Every student has a manual typewriter and a stack of typing paper. There are dictionaries, telephone books, atlases, street maps, and the like to reference. We are given a single copy of a "news story" that is a spaghetti bowl of misspellings, red herrings, and gross factual errors. The first student to turn in a clean piece of copy earns the grade. Everyone else takes a fail.

I loved wordstar, did not move to M$ word until version 2.0 of Winword. Now, of course, all my stuff is done in LibreOffice Writer.
Always was disappointed with those. For whatever reason the few that I tried were never fresh, just old, hard and lacking flavor.
Chewing gum used to be wrapped with paper lined foil. Not anymore.
Never had one. I used to see the commercials on TV when I was a kid, and always wanted to try one. None of the stores in the Dallas area had them.

Ahh, I used WordPerfect and Wordstar a loooong time ago (also starting using VisiCalc when it first came out). My friends used to call Wordstar "Wormstar"
My brother found a few copies of this at a used record store, and gave me a copy.
