Things you think are far too expensive.

You did not have "free" cable...the cost to supply it was included in your rent.

Also, the cost of internet was built into your phone plan, so that wasn't free either.

Way to pick a post apart. Youre right, I didnt have "free" cable, but no, it was not included in my rent. I paid a guy $100, one time, to hook up my "free" cable. Since I was there 3 years, thats about $2.77 a month.

Yeah, I paid for a data package on my phone. What I meant was that I was not paying for a sole internet connection in my home, and I was asking how much people pay for theirs monthly.

I have always had many ways to purchase food and toiletries fairly inexpensive. We have several stores locally that have good sale item prices, coupons, rewards discounts and shopping at Aldi's and Big Lots is really worthwhile as well. I rarely eat out, and when I do, I use coupons or watch for specials.

However, there are many things already mentioned that are expensive such as cable TV, cars, doctor and dentist visits, auto repairs, bottled water costs as much as soda pop, and heating oil costs are outrageous.

The cost of owning and operating an automobile is ridiculous now so I sold mine a few years ago and haven't regretted it.

Healthcare, medicine, etc. as well. (Sorry, OP)

When I hear what some people pay for their [DEL]location trackers[/DEL] cell phone service I can't believe it.

And the fact that we've been duped to pay for bottled water is pretty sad, IMO. :rollno:

Bottled water is an option available to those who want it. Ive bought bottled water maybe once or twice in the last year, and only then because I wanted really cold water, instead of what was available for free. I wouldnt say most people have been duped.

Just a thought an cell service...I pay $35 a month for unlimited minutes/text/data through Virgin Mobile. No contract but I have to pay full price for my phone and their network isn't super fast but they did recently upgrade to a 4G network and got iPhones. Not bad for $35 service
