What about some 34" scale hollowbodies like the Gibson EB2 or Rickenbacker 4005?
Explorers, T-Birds, Flying Vs.etc.
I am personally overdosed on Fender clones. Better yet FenderBirds, FenderExplorers etc !!!

Aw hell yeah. I'd love to see that. Not even Warmoth makes a non reverse T-bird body. I think reverse T-birds are hot too, but the non-reverse is where it's at for me.

That cool blue and blocks and binding is why I got the jag. I'll move the strap button to help the dive. Not gonna be my main player, so no big.

I have a Douglas 6er, so I don't have direct detailed knowledge of SX basses.

I did set one of the $79 SE jazz models up for one of my church's pastors, though. Truss rod was never tightened. Action was way too high. Plays fine after a set up.

I do have 2 SX guitars that I love dearly, and use when I double on the shorter, skinny-necked axe. One, ($119), has P-90 PUs in a mahogany strat body and a tune-o-matic bridge. Maple fretboard.
Needed fret leveling, intonation, bridge height and intonation tweaks. The truss rod was fine. Had to replace the nut with a GraphTech, the original disintegrated on me within a day.
Sounds great and growly in classic rock kind of way, but can make a nice jangle-y sound in the middle position.

The other, ($129), is an HSS strat w/a Floyd-licensed bridge. Frets were nearly level from the get go, but the truss rod was loose in this one too. Nut height was too high, taking a bit of time to sort out. Sounds like a strat with a bit more push in the bridge. I recently put a Duncan P-Rails in the bridge, with push-pull pots for 4 sound switching. Now I can get a lively strat tone from the bridge.

They are both amazing values if you can do your own set-up and mod work. Both play very well and sound great. Look pretty high-end, too. One of the real guitarists I play with checked out the HSS one. He asked how much I paid for it, when I told him $129, his jaw dropped and he said, "That's sick!".
