Thinking About a Warmoth Medium Scale Build

I like medium-scale basses and would like to build one for around a grand.

Here's what I'm imagining. Kindly tell me what you think:

• Short/medium scale body in ash finished in transparent green with rout for a P pickup. Black/mint/black pickguard and EMG pickup in ivory. Chrome barrel knobs.
• Warhead 32" neck. Maple neck with gloss finish on back. Rosewood fingerboard with ivoroid binding and block inlays. Bone nut, Res-o-lite tuners. String retainer.
• FCH Babicz bridge 4-string and for strings .. Chromes.

I'd also consider Surf Green and single-ply white pickguard or chrome mirror pickguard.
Might need a preamp but then I'd be over budget.

i'm in the process of building a warmoth short scale jazz bass for a friend of mine, using his specs. it's going to be as 'vintage' as possible with the exception of the scale length. color will be lake placid blue nitro with matching headstock, duncan sjb1's (V/V/T) will all fender AV RI hardware and gotoh resolite heads for better balance. it'll probably take me about 2-3 months to complete, but i'm actually looking forward to this unique build.

Is that bass in your profile Surf Green with a mint guard? That looks really nice, too.

the bass in my avatar is my all original foam green p bass (april 1962 slab board) that i bought in 1975 from its original owner. that is the stock guard on it (as well as everything else) so it's not really a mint green one per se, it's just it's old celluloid one that turned kinda green.
