Thinking about adding an Avalon u5 to the rig.

Currently live I am running an Ampeg SVT-AV stack into a Maxon OD-808 into a Korg Pitchblack tuner into a '71 Fender P-Bass. I am thinking about adding the u5 as my DI versus just taking from the head. I will shape the tone a bit to get a really clean rock tone.

I have the chance to purchase a mint used u5 for $400.

Should I pull the trigger and purchase it?

I do love running the u5 through mini speaker set ups like computer speakers...the tone is great...with headphones I love it too.

The U5 is amazing, IMO. I was totally amazed and sold when I plugged into one at the studio a few months back. It is on my "buy this month" list. The only thing it is going to do is make your tone that much better, and $400.00 is great deal for one of those bad boys. You should be able to get them with rack mounts for that price as well. Good luck!
