Thinking about buying a '93 Fender JB-62 FL

Recently made a TB account but have been lurking for years, what's up everyone

I've been in the market for a fretless recently and have been eyeing a CIJ '93 JB-62 fretless version, the only non-factory change I can notice are the Delano PUs. I can't find too much info on it online and wanted to see what others thought. It's beat up but that just gives it character. It's around $700 plus the expensive overseas shipping.

I’ve never played a MIJ Fretless but that looks incredible. I can only imagine it sounds and feels great, too. I would say go for it. Then again, this is TB; hardly anyone will say “don’t buy the bass” lol.

True, GAS is to be found in these threads. But hey you only live once and it is indeed a looker. Perhaps I'll make a post on it, super curious how it plays

If you haven't already I'd say give it a go. I picked up one from 1990 and it feels and plays amazing. My only complaint is that it's a bit on the heavy side but she growls when you open up the gain a bit. I put nylon tape wounds on mine because I put them on all my fretless basses, but I paid about $1400 including a new set of strings, strap locks a new strap, a setup and tax for mine, so even with a few hundred in shipping and customs that's still a steal. Mine has a few signs of wear as well but I prefer them that way.

I did end up getting it actually, one of the best basses I've played next to my MIA. It's a joy to play, I added some DR Sunbeams on mine and the mwah I get is perfection. Glad you're liking yours as well!

Buying that bass looks like a no-brainer to me! I like it!
