Thinning Hair. NOT Hiding It

I think the Borg Collective/Skynet joint task force already came up with a pill that grows hair but causes erectile distinction.

Was that distinction, or extinction??

Quite honestly, in the case of Seven of Nine, I have to struggle to remember whether she had hair. It seemed irrelevant at the time.

I started losing my hair at 17. I remember I was in first period English reading Sun Also Rises when I ran my hand through my longish hair and seeing about eight strands of hair fall into the pages of the book and thinking, “that can’t be good.” I started buzzing everything around 24 and started clean shaving at 27. It sucked in college but I got over it pretty quick once I graduated. My fiancé says she wouldn’t like me with hair and likes the look I have.

That said, the ear, nose, and back hair is coming in strong.

Other than my goatee, I've got no gray..... probably because I'm a redhead. Us gingers go from red hair to white hair.

I'm just happy to have hair at my age. Most of the guys I went to school with are bald now.

Redhead here also. Just turned 68, full head of hair with very little gray. On the request from my wife, I just recently shaved off my goatee as it had turned white. Wife says I look younger now. My older brother is pretty much the same so it must run in the family.

I've heard many times that baldness skips generations. My paternal and maternal grandfathers were bald. My dad had a mostly full head of hair to the end. If the skipping generations part was true, i should be bald.

Not that I'm complaining.

It may skip generations, but supposedly the balding gene is handed down from the maternal side. So even if your maternal-side grandfather never went bald, it doesn't matter. A better place to predict baldness is with maternal-side uncles, for they will inherit the baldness gene maternally, then pass it on via their sisters.

yes - now it's no coincidence that oly white/tort is my favourite livery. I've had three basses in that colour. Would love a Strat or a Tele in the same. I guess my face is the tort part? LOL!

I’m looking for an American made Telecaster as well. A newer one preferably. I like the wider nut and the larger frets. The ‘vintage’ models are lovely looking but, my clumsy fingers like the bigger frets on the more modern ones.

Mine started thinning out in the middle a couple of years ago, just where there's no way of styling around it. I had a co-worker once who maintained a ponytail despite a steadily-growing bald spot, so I already knew how sad that looks.

I always thought Mick Fleetwood pulled it off alright.

Still have it, it's growing long at the moment. Starting to get grey in the beard. I don't mind the grey, but I don't want to go bald. I'll do the honorable metalhead thing and shave it.

I've had my hair either buzzcut or short-cropped since the late 90's, with no desire to grow it longer ever since.

But what I don't like are guys who have hair, but shave it completely bald voluntarily.

They’ll sample X genes from your maternal grandmother and show baldness 50% (unless double gene) but will never inherit it from maternal grandfather (they get a Y)

so it’s tricky.

Keep in mind their mother(s) all have two Xs and only one of them comes from him. Very early baldness may come from a non standard source too.

Indeed, and if that were the pattern that either I or that co-worker had, it wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, his was classic male-pattern baldness from further to the back of the head, while mine is less classic, spreading outward from the middle.

God made a few perfect heads and then he covered the rest with hair!

Dad was bald but I'm the only bald cousin on my mom's side. What hair I have left is mostly grey.

And this is me looking like a hippy, need a haircut!!

Still got my hair in front and on the sides. But yikes, gotta bald spot on the back that's about a good 4 inches in diameter. I'm 67 and I think I first noticed "a spot" when I was around 50. I don't try to hide it, figured I've hit the wall in my own way and find I really don't care about it!

It's so nice not trying to impress anyone anymore along certain lines! Less to worry about!
