One thing I noticed was missing on both of them.....DYNAMICS! A pile of notes played rapidly does not constitute music without it. JMO, though.
As far as amp "size" goes, it shouldn't matter if the music is good. I've heard many bassists and guitar players use small amps and sound great, and others with big rigs and effect racks sound terrible.
