LOL... Been posting and searching a lot on Warwick the past few days. Getting ads now on facebook for a company called WeWork. Coincidence, or are advertising bots taking guesses at auto-correction now? If I were the WeWork advertisers, I don't know how I'd feel about this.
Actually the bots track the time of day so they know you're home during the day searching the interwebs when you should be out working.
Was thinking of ordering flowers for Mom since Mother’s Day is approaching. I ought to just peruse Frederick’s of Hollywood for a few minutes so my TL is clogged with what I’m really obsessed with.
We have Amazon Alexia and we have little doubt it listens in based on ad feeds we receive. We might discuss that I need to repair a faucet and next thing you know we get a feed for bathroom fixtures .
A couple weeks ago, after a "few" bottles of beer, I was doing my world famous Tommy Chong impersonation ( )........ The next morning, Cheech and Chongs Nice Dreams was listed in my Recommended Movies section of FireTV. My wife was a little freaked out by it, but I tried to convince her it was a coincidence....but now I have my doubts.
What he is really interested in is random pics similar to their catalogue but with the search spy bot assuming less is more.
We've got Alexa too. Still learning the things she's capable of... Some are awesome. My new favorite is, "Alexa. Add tofu to our shopping list." It used to be, "Andrea. Add tofu to our shopping list." Followed by... "No. The list is in the drawer. Do it yourself!"
Don't forget Alexia tune my guitar/bass. Seriously, as good as tuning to a piano. You might have to activate the feature but if I remember correctly Alexia asks if you want activation.
A saying from the advertising business: "I know that half of my advertising budget is wasted, but I just don't know which half."
All I know is this: the other day, I stood in line behind another guy at the pharmacist. I’ve never seen the dude before in my life. I go home, we eat dinner, afterwards I log on to Facebook. There is the guy as a ‘someone you might know’ reference. What?????
Could be location services. Google/FB and Android are particularly nosy, even though you can turn aspects of it "off", if you use mapping and/or route services, you'll get tagged again.
