I never thought I would say a burst looks good, but that body and neck compliment each other SO well
Yup I like it too. Got mine a couple of weeks ago.
Back in November or December I walked into Sam Ash in Manhattan, saw that bass on the wall, played it, went home and couldn't stop thinking about it. The next day I went back and I did some "creative financing" to bring it home.
Its a great playing and sounding instrument.
They are incredible. They sound incredible and the fingerboards are amongst the best I've played, including the fretless Wal I had reconditioned by Ian back in 1988 and my current fretless StingRay which was Plek-planed and hand finished by Charlie Chandler's Guitar Experience a couple of years ago.

not dissing this board at all because it is probably one of the nicest I have ever seen, but playing fretless on that thing with all those flamed stripes... yikes.
Could also be a bonus, gives you a clear idea where you are on the neck. I think I would find it distracting. Microtonal maybe?

Maybe if it were a lined fretless but that neck is unlined so one shouldn't need to look at the neck too much.
Beautiful!!! Makes me think of Joe Dart's Sig MM, couldn't find a good pic, here's one, you can kinda see the tiger striping on the FB, the headstock, too...
That is undoubtedly a sexy fingerboard.

I do *not* like that finish, but my god, that fingerboard is beautiful!
In practice, I found that looking at it from a player's perspective, all I could really see was the shine from the gloss. Even if you stare at it from that angle, the stripes just fade away.
What? I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of the damn thing!
Gorgeous indeed, but it doesn't match nicely with the body. I love sunbursts (especially when paired with rosewood fretboard), but i think this neck belongs to a more modern body.
