It's a old man's version of a 1965 Playboy. But this was the first Fender rig (borrowed) that I used in a band.

Now I've discovered that Fender has that classic blackface style Bassman 500w class D head -- I can't live without one.

Gonna re-cosmetic my fEARful 15/6 into a Fender cab clone (sizes are almost similar).

Then try to relive my youth.

Well to be fair, that is an amazing guitar amp. ;)


At 350 watts @ 8 Ohms, you may feel a little limited power wise paired up with your fEARful.

With my 15/6/1, instead of 350 watts into 8 ohms, I go with ~2500. Really.

Youth—which as we know is wasted on the young—can not be relived, though it can cultivated. :thumbsup:

Brings me back, when i was a kid starting out black face Fenders were everywhere in fact I blew the speakers out in a Bandmaster (friends, haha!). I had a bassman, a Bandmaster and a Dual Showman, all black face and I recently bought a silverface Bassman, it is still cool and sounds great.

Women feel this way and men feel this way. There have been a lot of good looking rigs that sound like shite. The real deal follows the laws of "form follows function." You know? I wish that Marshall Superbass 100 head on a 4x12 1935a & 1935 b cab sounded great. It doesn't. The Acoustic 360 looked like it would push Jupiter out its orbit. It could. But! No good up close or for intimate musical gatherings. Oh! Tweed 4x10 Bassman. Looks cool. Sound? Meh. That's my complaining.

Best sounding best looking past rig? Circa 1970. Marshall Major head stripped and refinished a reddish oak color on a flat back SVT. Ohhhhhh my! Sounded great and looked fantastic!

I'm on to better. Hey seems that Bamboo Monique is reminiscent in appearance and surpasses it in every way......

Sure, but the "muffin top" police on TB will never let go of the whopping 2.2" width difference between the head and an (unfinished) 15/6 fEARful cab. Think of the children... Link Removed
