Well maybe, but I didnt write this, I didn't produce it and I didn't give it away free. So maybe not so much.
Although I'd like a copy on CD from wavs, is there some way I can get one? (Other than the obvious 'rip one from the mp3s', I'd like to hear it in the best quality possible since I intend to play it to some friends and they will appreciate it being better than mp3)

Download winamp and flac.
Under the cd ripping settings for winamp select to rip with flac. It will rip an ultra high quality version of the CD (an hour long cd is almost half a gig!).

I think you've missed my point a bit. I could only see a way to download the tapes as mp3.
Having done so I like it enough to get a CD quality version.
However I cant since there is no link to get a CD quality version.
Converting an mp3 to flac does not make it CD quality, it merely makes a bigger mp3, since it's original quality was set by the mp3 process. A CD is 700+MB, flac compresses the WAVs t make them smaller, they are not higher quality than CD.
So I can deal in flac or wav or whatever (Monkey even, I really don't care) by I would like to get the full fat files since I want to play them to some friends of mine who are seriously into this sort of music and have extremely serious stereos for listening to this type of stuff.
If it isn't possible then I will burn a CD from wavs created from the mp3s, its not an issue to do that; rather I'd like to show this music off at its very best, since I know the audience would appreciate the step up in quality that would allow.
Oh and I recommend moving from winamp to foobar2000, it definitely sounds better - even if it doesn't look as nice. It also offers even more file types as far as I remember (although winamp may have caught up by now).

Well - you "GET IT" which is payment enough!
I have the full fidelity wavs which I'll use to make physical copies. I just haven't gotten round to it yet. Hopefully within the next few weeks I'll get my art together & get it done.

I played bass in high school and for a year or 2 after and then had to give it up cuz of kids/family etc....
i didn't pick it up again till about 10 years later in 98/99. I got discouraged and kinda forgot about it.
in 2004 I lit a fire under my butt to give it a more "serious" try. took some lessons (first time ever) and started messing around with solo bass.
although i still hold a full time job - i've been fairly dedicated since 2004.
sorry for such a long answer. life is complicated sometimes!
I do think that Jeff was born with a bass in hand and he is just being modest!
One of the best players I've heard.... I found out who his bass teacher was (Michael Wilcox) and have been diligently taking lessons.
